For My Muslim Friends

Over the past few years I’ve enjoyed getting to know some of the local Muslims in my area, and valued their cultural qualities.

After doing some reading about Islam and the content of various sections of the Quran, I’ve decided to share the following brief message about my own spiritual beliefs with Muslim people I meet.

**********************

I understand that one of the main differences between Islam and Christianity is that Muslims are taught that Jesus was just a prophet.

The Christian teaching is that Jesus is the son of God; he lived among us for 33 years (2,000 years ago) in a physical human body; at the end of that time he was prepared to suffer one of the most torturous forms of execution as payment for every sin that separates anybody from God. Through believing in this teaching, anyone can enter into a restored father-child relationship with God.

The main thing I want to tell you is that there is a way you can test the integrity of that Christian teaching.

The secret lies in one New Testament verse which says, “If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the son of God, God lives in him and he in God”. (1 John 4: 15)

Now, if God is the Creator of everything, then that would make him the source of love and wisdom. So if God lives in us because we acknowledge Jesus as his son, then surely that means that we will be guided by his love and wisdom.

Here is how you can find out for yourself if that New Testament verse can be trusted.

Say this to God, “GOD, I AM PREPARED TO PUT MY TRUST IN THE TEACHING THAT JESUS IS YOUR SON, BECAUSE I WANT TO EXPERIENCE YOU LIVING IN ME AND GUIDING ME IN THE WAYS OF PERFECT LOVE AND WISDOM”.

I believe that if you sincerely say that to God, then you will experience very noticeable changes in your heart and how you think, especially in your attitude to other people.

I also believe, from personal experience, that if after making that statement to God, you start reading the New Testament, you will discover spiritual truths which will change your life as you apply them.

I encourage you to have a look at a very short booklet on my website, www.answers4life.com.au . The booklet is called Life’s Two Biggest Questions. Also, I’d like you to watch one of my YouTube videos, World Peace Solution, which you can access on the website.

If you have any questions or comments about this document or any of the items on my website, feel free to send me an email at bob@answers4life.com.au

I will leave you with another bible passage to support my message.

John 1: 10 – 13

(The writer is referring to Jesus)

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognise him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husbands will, but born of God.
